The story of Amanda Pizarro and Andy Rodriguez began in 2014, when the couple, then students, dreamed of creating a community gathering place centered around donuts, coffee, and good vibes—a place suitable for first dates, birthday celebrations, or simply lifting spirits after a long day. After extensive research and flavor development, they put school on hold, maxed out their credit cards, and sought support from friends and family to purchase a 1950s vintage Aljoa camper and lease a commissary kitchen. They tested their creations and served them to the community from their pop-up in a Wynwood parking lot, inviting anyone and everyone to try their offerings. Following over a year of operating out of the camper and spreading the word, the duo opened their first retail store in Wynwood, marking the beginning of their journey. Now, they are on a mission to share the Salty experience with as many people across the nation as possible.
